COLD OPEN (0:00-0:06)
[VISUAL]: Full moon over the Blackfang treeline, Luna hauling a load of firewood across frozen ground, breath steaming.
[Nineteen winters as the lowest wolf in the pack, and tonight every one of them has to stand in the circle.]
FINN: "Luna! Drop that wood — the Alpha called every wolf into the circle tonight. Every wolf."
SCENE 2: SETUP (0:06-0:30)
[VISUAL]: The pack fills a stone circle around a fire pit, Kael standing on the rock ledge above them, torchlight cutting along his jaw.
[Firelight on four hundred faces, and not one of them turned toward the girl at the back.]
KAEL: "The Moon Goddess speaks tonight. Some of you will find your fated mate across this fire."
LUNA: "Finn, let go. Omegas stand at the back and fetch water. Nobody finds an Omega in a rite."
FINN: "Then tonight they find one. I have your sleeve and I am not giving it back."
MARA: "She has no wolf. What is a mute doing standing in a mating circle?"
KAEL: "The Goddess chooses. I do not. Stand where you are and hold your tongue."
SCENE 3: CORE CONFLICT (0:30-1:18)
[VISUAL]: Luna's hand goes to her chest, a golden thread of light snaps taut between her and Kael on the ledge, four hundred wolves turning to look.
[A hook under the ribs, pulled sideways. Everyone in the circle can see the light; only two of them can feel it.]
LUNA: "Alpha — my chest. Something is pulling, it is like a hook under the ribs."
KAEL: "...You."
MARA: "No. Not her. The Goddess would not pick the wolfless one in front of all of us."
SILAS: "Steady. Bonds misfire. A misfired bond can be undone before the moon sets."
LUNA: "Alpha, I do not know what is happening. Tell me what it is."
KAEL: "Do not move. Do not speak until I tell you to."
FINN: "Luna, your eyes. They are not the colour they were a minute ago."
SCENE 4: THE HOOK (1:18-1:30)
[VISUAL]: Kael's face hardening as he steps back off the ledge, the gold thread still burning between them, the pack frozen mid-breath.
[Disgust sits on his face far more easily than the thing underneath it.]
KAEL: "Every wolf here saw that light. Nobody repeats it outside this circle."
MARA: "Alpha, you cannot mean to leave it standing there."
KAEL: "I mean exactly what I am about to say next. Clear the ground."
SUBTITLE: "The Moon Goddess picks an Omega for the Alpha of Blackfang — and his face says he would rather it were anyone else."
